We are looking for website partners

Did you know that over the 18 months, we had some students undergoing traineeship with us and one of their major assignments was web design and development. The result is that at the end of the students training, we have a number of websites which, given the size of our Team, we can not manage.

A number of the new websites are excellently crafted, mostly using the popular WordPress blogging system. It would be a shame, and a  waste of money, if we trash them out.

I am writing to you to find out if you’re interested in managing one or two of these websites in partnership with us at emanila.

In our dealings, we always want to come out upfront. So, here is the proposed arrangement that will apply to any of the subject websites except those that are marked with RESTRICTED.

PROPOSED ARRANGEMENTS

The arrangements that we at emanila normally enter into are as follows:

*** We at emanila handle the technical side including domain name registration, web hosting and technical support, and

*** Our partner (possibly you) will handle the regular updating of the site plus marketing.

REVENUE SHARING

*** Sharing in revenue will be 50-50

What happens to sharing in expenses? There is nothing to share. We shoulder the costs of providing technical support, registration name and web hosting. And you provide the time, and the resources to support your marketing activities and site content management including access to the Internet.

WEBSITE DIRECTIONS AND FOCUS

The content focus of the website has already been established. However, before we finalise our arrangement, we will discuss and confirm our directions. Like what we have with other partners, we regularly communicate on our progress as well as how we will adjust our directions to adapt to changing conditions.

We will also set a timeframe within which we determine whether we pursue the partnership or not. In other words, we are giving ourselves a time to pull out in case we find out later that the business arrangement does not suit us.

IF SOMEONE WOULD LIKE TO BUY THE WEBSITE, WHAT IS OUR ARRANGEMENT?

There is always that prospect of course.  Which we will welcome. 

In that case, we split 50-50 in the sale proceeds of the website.
